Schools

5 Schools for the poor (English medium) most of which were started in early seventies by our missionaries in order to provide education for the rural boys and girls. Priests of the Order of Discalced Carmelites, from the very beginning of our Mission have been giving importance to the Education field. In some places of the mission there were no schools and in other places the discrimination towards the backward sections of the society was prevalent, so the education was not provided to lower classes of the society. Hence it was imperative for the missionaries to start schools. The schools which are run by OCD Service Society, has the primary motive of providing education to marginalised and discriminated sections of the society.

The Mount Carmel Boys Town ITI

The Mount Carmel Boys Town, ITI, is an industrial training charitable institute of Discalced Carmelite mission. It was established with the prime motive of guiding and directing the school dropouts and youth, neglected sections of the society towards job oriented skilled and technical education. It has been continuing to this day with the same objective in mind, providing skilled education, equipping them with the technical training so that they can procure employment to support their families financially, they are also enhanced in their personal life by instilling self-esteem, and self-confidence.
